I think this is what analysts are talking about when they go on and on about this being the year for "convergence products". AVM has created a sort of catch-all, portable device for your home or office. The FRITZ! Mini features (straight from the press site):

- New convenience in Internet and fixed-line telephony
- Music player for Internet radio, podcasts, and music files
- Personalized info on calls, e-mail, and current news

So, basically the FRITZ!Box (pictured at far right) handles all of the landline and internet connections, and then pushes all of that data to the FRITZ! Mini via WiFi. You can take phone calls (landline or VoIP), stream music, get weather updates, check for incoming email/text messages, and more. The remote unit doesn't have any built in memory, but there is space for a memory card. Unfortunately, I don't see a price listed anywhere. Looks like an interesting device for those who need to stay connected, but can't be tied to their desks.

I am all about gadgets, however my experience has been that all-in-one gadgets are crappy everythings. Where as if you buy a specific gadget you have a widget that is great at widgetting.
